Police today arrested a man while he was allegedly accepting bets here on the ongoing NatWest T20 series in England and seized Rs 3 lakh cash from his possession.
Acting on a tip-off, task force police from Begum Bazar area raided Ashwin Bung residence and caught him while accepting bets from identified and unidentified punters directly or over call for the ongoing NatWest T-20 Series 2015 match between Lanka Shier Vs Hampshire teams playing in England, a statement issued by police said.
Police seized Rs 3 lakh cash, computers and mobile handsets from he spot.
The accused was running cricket betting in an organised manner from his residence, the release said, adding the case is being investigated.
