Man arrested for allegedly raping minor girl from UP

A 33-year-old man, who allegedly sexually abused a minor girl hailing from Uttar Pradesh after taking her to the temple town of Palani in Tamil Nadu, has been arrested, police said today.

The accused, Sanal Kumar, working as supervisor in a private organisation at nearby Edappally was arrested here yesterday following a complaint from the father of the 14-year-old girl, sources said.

Police said the girl's father was also working in the same company where the accused was employed.

Kumar, hailing from Kozhencherry in Pathnamthitta district, had accompanied the girl's father to Uttar Pradesh for attending a relative's wedding last month and when they returned the girl also accompanied them to see Kerala, police said.
 

The man took her to Palani a few days ago and allegedly sexually abused her, police said.
