The police today arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly trying to rape a woman and assaulting her at Adraspally village on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
G Ganesh, the accused, allegedly tried to force himself upon the woman, a brick kiln worker, when she stepped out to attend the nature's call in the early morning of May 13.
When she shouted for help, he hit her causing serious injuries before fleeing, said inspector A Sattaiah of Shamirpet police station.
Some other women workers came to her rescue.
After she lodged a complaint, police today arrested Ganesh from his house in the same locality. Further probe is on.
