A 31-year-old man has been arrested on charges of attempt to sexually assault his 8-year- old daughter in their house near Kinathukadavu on the outskirts.
According to the police, Satheeshkumar, a daily wage earner was playing with his daughter, a student of class one, when his wife had gone to the market last afternoon.
The accused tried to sexually assault the girl during which she started screaming, police said.
At this, his wife entered the house and took away the girl. She lodged a complaint at the All Women Police Station.
Sateeshkumar was arrested last night and produced before a Judge. He has been lodged in the Central jail under 15 days judicial custody, they said.
