A 27-year-old member of a suspected inter-state gang has been arrested from Dwarka here for his alleged involvement in bootlegging and vehicle theft, police said today.

Police have recovered four cartons whiskey bottles marked 'only for sale in Haryana' from his possession besides six stolen cars, they said.

The accused has been identified as Monu Phogat, a native of Rohtak in Haryana.

The accused along with his associates used to supply illicit liquor from Haryana to various parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh in stolen cars bearing fake number plates, the police said.

On October 13, the police received a tip-off about the accused coming near a university in Sector-16, Dwarka with haul of illicit liquor.

The Crime Branch laid a trap and arrested him.
