Days after a Hyderabad-based man was arrested in connection with an objectionable cartoon of some top leaders allegedly posted on a Facebook page and was later granted bail, a BJP leader today alleged he was social media in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

The AAP did not reply to queries in this regard.

The Delhi Police Special Cell had arrested Syed Abdul Basir Mussavir seven days ago after the cartoon, allegedly depicting President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice Dipak Misra, BJP president Amit Shah and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in bad taste, was shared on a Facebook page in the name of 'Mangalore Voice'.

A BJP leader, who did not wish to be named, alleged today that Mussavir used to work as a campaign manager, coordinator and social media in-charge for AAP.

Mussavir, who was later granted bail by a court here, had claimed that he was not the one who had posted the image and someone else might have shared the image on the page.

His bail plea was argued by lawyer and AAP leader Somnath Bharti, who had told reporters then that "he is our volunteer from Hyderabad".
