Man arrested for defrauding bank of Rs 35 lakh

A man was arrested here today for allegedly defrauding a nationalised bank in the city of Rs 35 lakh by submitting fake documents to get a loan.

Police said he was arrested on a complaint from the senior manager of the Bank of Baroda branch. Investigations revealed that he had submitted fake documents to avail the amount, following which he was arrested.

They said cases were pending against him in connection with defrauding some other banks.

He was produced before the judicial magistrate here and remanded to custody.
