Man arrested for duping businessman in Kolkata

The Kolkata police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly duping a businessman of Rs 54 lakh.

Abhishek Agarwal, a resident of Masjid bari street in Burtolla area, was yesterday arrested after Raja Saha, Director of a private company, lodged a complaint and alleged that Agarwal siphoned off Rs 54 lakh from the company's current account by forging his signature, police said.

Agarwal siphoned off money from the company's account to a bullion company in Bengaluru. He then flew to Bengaluru where he posed as Raja Saha by using a fake identity card and got two kg of gold, the officer said.
 

The accused was produced to a city court where he was remanded to police custody till April 29, he said.
