Man arrested for duping people by promising jobs in police dept

A notorious criminal was arrested for allegedly duping people on the pretext of providing them jobs in police department, an official said today.

Rakesh Kumar alias "IG", a resident of Badyal Brahmana village, was arrested from R S Pura sector yesterday after a massive hunt, he said, adding that the accused was booked under various sections of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and several provisions of the Arms Act.

Narinder Kumar along with others recently lodged a complaint in a local police station, alleging that Rakesh had extorted a huge amount of money from them on the pretext of providing jobs in police department.

 

"Rakesh is a notorious criminal as six cases are already registered against him at R S Pura police station since 2002," the official said.
