Man arrested for duping youths

A man impersonating as CRPF officer was arrested today for allegedly duping unemployed youths of a few thousand rupees by promising them government jobs.

Ajit Singh, aged around 30 years, introduced himself as a CRPF officer to three youths hailing from Bassi area some time back and promised them government job, Sumit Gupta, ACP Ashok Nagar said.

"He took around Rs 2,000 from each candidate and called them to the state secretariat today," he said.

"The boys met him at the secretariat reception where he promised them that he will get them job as soon as possible. Some people present there on hearing their conservation sensed the fraud and informed police," Gupta said.
 

"Singh admitted that he was cheating the boys," the ACP said adding, that he was arrested and being interrogated.
