A man was arrested for allgedly duping unemployed youths by promising them jobs in Rayagada district, police said today.
The accused, identified as Aswini Kumar Sahu (24) of Balangir district, had opened an office at Tikiri in 2014 and collected huge amount of money from jobless youths, Rayagada Sub-divisional police officer (Rayagada) Jagannath Rao said.
Sahu took money from ITI candidates, promising them jobs in his company. He colleted between Rs 30,000 and Rs 1 lakh from the candidates based on their experience, said Rao.

The SDPO said one of the victims lodged a complaint at Rayagada police station in January and an inquiry was initiated. "In the same month the accused shut the office at Tikri and absconded," he said.
Eleven youths, who gave money to Sahu, have approached police and investigation is on to find the number of persons Sahu duped, he added.
