The Mumbra police in neighbouring Thane district have arrested a person for alleged involvement in illegal transportation of cows and bulls.
The accused, arrested yesterday, had been remanded in police custody, said assistant inspector Dilip Jadhav.
On October 31 the police, acting on a tip-off, had arrested the driver of a tempo in which the animals were being transported.
Four more people were wanted in the case and the police were ascertaining whether the animals were meant for slaughtering.
