Police have arrested a robber who along with four other associates had looted Rs 18 lakh from a man after sharing an auto with him.
42-year-old Waseel Ahmed, a resident of Ghaziabad was arrested on Sunday after police received a tip off that he would be coming to Puja Colony in Loni, police said today.
Police had also recovered Rs 10.46 lakh from him out of the total Rs 18 lakh looted money.

Ahmed and his gang in collusion with an auto driver had robbed of one Anand Singh Pathania, a resident of Chandigarh on September 27.
Pathania, who is a Marketing Officer with a firm in Karol Bagh had come to Delhi to attend a meeting.
He was asked to go to Firozpur Zirka (Haryana) to deliver Rs 18 lakh cash to someone. However, when he could not get a bus from ISBT, Delhi to Firozpur Zirka, he decided to go back to his Karol Bagh office, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Alok Kumar.
He inquired with several auto-rickshaw drivers but they refused to go Karol Bagh. Finally, he had to board an auto rickshaw already carrying two passengers. On the way, close to Tis Hazari Court, another passenger boarded the vehicle, he said.
When Pathania got down from the auto at Braham Kumari Ashram at New Rohtak Road and he reached his office, he realised that his brief case felt light. When he opened it, he was surprised that the cash was missing and some ladies garments were kept in it.
Pathania filed a complaint with the police, which during investigation found that Ahmed was involved in the case.
Subsequently, Ahmed was arrested from Puja Colony, Loni Ghaziabad on Sunday and on search Rs 46,000 was recovered from him.
During interrogation, Ahmed allegedly disclosed that he along with his accomplices namely Kasim, Kake alias Sanjay, Raju (an auto driver) and Sikkander had committed this crime.
At his instance, Rs 10 lakh was also recovered by the police team. Efforts are on to nab his other associates and recovered the remaining money, police said.
