The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police today arrested a man for making alleged phone calls and posing as a senior railway or police officer to get work done in the Railways.

On a tip off, Prem Shankar Singh was arrested from Mughalsarai this afternoon, STF sources said.

Singh, who had joined the Railways as a clerk, was dismissed from service in 2003 on charges of corruption, they said, adding "for the past two years he had been making such phone calls."

Singh admitted having made phone calls to railway officials concerned for recruitment of some persons in group D and transfers, the sources added.
