A man was arrested today for allegedly killing his 75-year-old father in Hardorwal village under Dera Baba Nanak police station, police said today.

The victim Bawa Singh was allegedly murdered with sharp-edged weapons by his son Kulwant Singh, daughter-in-law Ranjit Kaur and grandson Paramjit Singh (25) on September 27, Deputy Superintendent of Police Harpal Singh said.

Jaswant Kaur, daughter of the victim, told police that his father had made a will in favor of Kulwant's sons, however, later on, Bawa had threatened to withdraw the will.

The trio allegedly murdered Bawa with sharp-edged weapons and threw him from the roof of the house, they said.

The accused tried to deceive the police by stating that the septuagenarian had fallen off from the roof and sustained fatal injuries, they said.

While Kulwant was arrested, his wife Ranjit and son Paramjit were absconding, they added.
