An alleged drug peddler was today arrested while he was allegedly selling narcotics to students here.
"Mohammad Maqbool Khan, a notorious drug peddler, was arrested by a police party led by Station House Officer of Shergari police station Sargun Shukla, near his residence at Magarmal bagh locality of central city," a police spokesman said.
He said Khan was selling charas-stuffed cigarettes to the students when a police party, arrested him and recovered 2.5 kilogrammes of charas from his possession.
The accused has been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the spokesman said, adding police has identified his other associates including a woman, and efforts are on to nab them.
