The accused, Uma Shankar Sharma (24), had registered a complaint two days ago that he was robbed by four persons at gun-point of Rs 5.5 lakh which he had collected as payments for the company where he works, police said.
Investigations revealed that Sharma had concocted the story to keep the money with himself, they said.
The accused was arrested and the money was recovered from him, they said, adding, further probe was on in the matter.
