The 18-year-old victim residing in Duwada village, registered the complaint against the accused for sexually assaulting her and trying to kill her in the early hours, said police inspector of Local Crime Branch (LCB) Navsari, K N Patel.
Following the complaint, the girl was immediately sent to civil hospital for medical examination, he said.
"After primary medical tests, doctors found signs of injuries on her neck which indicate that someone did try to kill her," police said.
To get further evidence of rape, police have sent some samples to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL),they said.
