A man has been arrested for allegedly running a betting racket on IPL matches in Rajasthan's Ajmer city, about 130-km from here.

Akash Garg was arrested from his house in Ganesh Chowk area last night for operating the racket through which bets were placed for an IPL match, SHO Ganj police station Chetna Bhati said.

Garg was involved in the racket for the last two years, she said.

"Two mobile phones, a laptop, a DVD player and several slips having details of betting amount worth lakhs of Rupees were seized from his possession," the police official said.

She, however, said that primary investigation does not reveal his connection with the spot fixing but the case was being probed thoroughly to ascertain his contacts.
