Nav Prabhat, who allegedly shot and injured two persons, was apprehended from near Pragati Maidan yesterday on a tip off, Sanjay Kumar Jain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
"We had a tip off that the person who was involved in the firing incident in Jafrabad on May 24 will be coming to commit a crime near Pragati Maidan. We arrested him," Jain said.
A loaded countrymade pistol along with three live cartridges were recovered from his possession.
Prabhat had rivalry with Taiyab Khan and Junaid. Prabhat allegedly hatched a plan along with his associates and opened fire at Junaid in which he and a passerby were injured.
Prabhat is previously involved in 21 criminal cases including of attempt to murder, robbery, drug peddling in Delhi and UP.
