Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly stalking and threating a minor girl for almost a year, at north-east Delhi's Khajoori Khas area, police said today.
The 17-year-old girl is a class 12 student at a nearby government school. She had earlier complained about the alleged stalker on November 2014. He was arrested but later released on bail, said a police official.
The accused, Gaurav, was arrested by the police on Sunday. He has been booked under IPC sections 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, said a senior police official.
In her complaint, the victim said that Gaurav had allegedly threatened her several times over phone after she turned down his proposals. The threats allegedly ranged from abduction and sexual assault to a potential acid attack on her family members, the official added.
