Man arrested for supplying fake deodorants to market

"Chander Mohan, a resident of Om Vihar in Uttam Nagar, has been arrested and a large number of fake deodorants of branded companies have also been recovered," said V Renganathan ACP, West District.

During interrogation, Mohan said he was a rickshawpuller and a year ago he came in contact with one Baljeet Singh of Chander Vihar, who used to refill the empty containers of deodorants of branded companies, and started to work with him.

"When Singh wound up work and left for Punjab. About five month ago, Mohan established a small unit of refilling of empty deodorant containers after collecting them from the local scrap dealers," he said.

 

During raid, police has recovered 341 filled fake deodorants and body spray of several popular brands. Apart from these, 1,150 empty containers of various branded deodorants with 420 caps, two numbers each of packing machine, lamination machine and heat guns, three drums of 50 litre each containing chemical used for filling empty containers and one wooden box -- containing 25 bottles of fake deodorants.

The estimated value of recovered items is about Rs 1.5 lakh, he said.
