Man arrested for supplying illegal arms

A 25-year-old man, who wanted to create a gang like that in a Bollywood movie, was arrested for allegedly supplying illegal arms here, police said Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Lakhan, a resident of Uttam Nagar, they said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), Anto Alphonse, said police got a tip-off on Tuesday that Lakhan he would come to Ganda Nala Road in Vipin Garden to supply illegal weapons to someone.

He said a trap was laid and he was arrested.

During interrogation, Lakhan said he initially worked as a salesman in garment showrooms, police said.

They said he got in touch with his school friend Guddu, who headed a gang in Uttam Nagar.

 

He wanted to become famous criminals in Uttam Nagar. He was inspired by the character of Maya from the Bollywood movie Shootout at Lokhandwala and wanted to build a powerful gang with Guddu, the DCP said.

One country-made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession, police added.
