A middle-aged man was arrested for allegedly attempting to sodomise an eleven-year-old boy at a wedding hall here, police said today.
The accused, Vinod Harishankar Awsare (40), took the boy to a room in the wedding hall at Hudkeshwar in eastern part of the city on the pretext of changing his dirty clothes on Sunday.
He then closed the room and allegedly tried to sodomise the young boy, they said.
A complaint was lodged with police by the boy's parents following which Awsare was arrested yesterday and booked under relevant sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012, police added.
