A man allegedly axed his wife to death at Chak-5 MD in Nachana area of Jaisalmer district, police said today.
The body of 33-year-old Rukma was found in a pool of blood by her relatives at her home yesterday, they said adding the reason for the murder was not immediately known.
An FIR has been lodged in this connection.
Deceased's husband Peera Ram Bheel, who fled the scene after the murder, was caught by the cops near IGNP canal area later in the evening, police said.
A case under section 302 of IPC was registered against the accused and further probe is on, the police said.
