A man was arrested and gold
ornaments weighing 1.7 kg recovered from him at N S C Bose International Airport here today.
Kisor Kumar, who alighted from a Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur late last night, was detained first when he could not produce papers for the 1.7 kg jewellery found in his handbag, a top airport customs official said.
Kumar was finally arrested this morning after night long questioning by customs and security officials and now is in police custody.
The security agencies were probing if he was part of an international gold carrier racket.
