A 38-year-old man has been arrested and his juvenile nephew has been detained in connection with the alleged attempt to murder their neighbour here, police said today.

Accused Deepak Sharma, a resident of Brahmpuri in north east Delhi, has been arrested while his juvenile nephew has been detained in connection with an attempt to murder their neighbour Ashok, said AK Singla, DCP(north east).

Accused Deepak and his nephew had allegedly shot at Ashok and injured him on August 5. A case of attempt to murder was registered at New Usmanpur police station and investigation was launched.

During interrogation Deepak accused Ashok who worked as a property dealer of having a bad eye on his sister-in-law and using filthy language against her. He had hatched the plan to eliminate Ashok and involved his minor nephew in it.

The duo purchased a new motorcycle and a gun from a local goon to execute their plan. Deepak told his family that he was visiting the religious shrine of Mehandipur Balaji in Rajasthan. But he went alongwith his nephew to shoot Ashok who sustained a bullet injury.

Following the attack on Ashok, they went to Ghonda Chowk and hid the motor cycle. They took a bus from Dhaula Kuan and reached Jaipur.

Later, they took another bus to Balaji and kept tickets as proof, the officer said.

Deepak also made sure that he was covered in CCTV cameras and entered the details in register in his own handwriting at Mehandipur Balaji. He was working on his plan which was inspired by Ajay Devgn-starrer Bollywood movie Drishyam, said the DCP.
