Man arrested over dowry demand

A man who allegedly killed his wife after her family failed to provide the dowry demanded by him was arrested here, police said today.

The accused, Sateesh, a resident of Ram Nagar was arrested

yesterday after a complaint was lodged against him by the victim's brother, Vikas.

Vikas in his complaint alleged that his sister was killed by Sateesh and his family. He alleged that his sister was regularly harassed by Sateesh and his family for dowry, police spokesperson Jagjeet Singh said.

In another incident in Faridabad, a complaint has been registered against the five members of a family, for allegedly harassing a woman over dowry.
 

The woman filed a complaint against her husband, Sarjeet yesterday and said that she got married to him on Feb 10, 2015 and he and his family members has been harassing her and demanding dowry since then.

Police has registered cases in both the matter and investigation is underway.
