Man arrested with foreign currency worth Rs 35 lakh

A 32-year-old person was arrested today and US dollars worth Rs 35 lakh was recovered from him, airport authorities said.

Mohammed Nizamuddin, a city resident, was scheduled to board a flight to Singapore.

During the pre-boarding check, it was found that he was in possession of US dollars worth Rs 35 lakh in violation of rules. The foreign currency was seized and he is being questioned.

Meanwhile, a glass portion of a door close to the aero bridge slot was broken when a CISF guard tried to open it.

Previously, there have been several instances of portions of false ceiling collapsing and glass panels cracking at the airport.
