A 37-year-old man was today attacked with a sword and seriously injured by his cousin in Bahar Sai area of adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district, police said.
The victim, Sukumar Kar Chaudhary, was returning home after taking a bath in a river when his cousin Bumper Chaudhary attacked him with a sword and seriously injured him, Superintendent of Police, Inderjeet Mahatha, said.
Bumper (28) reached the Kharswan police station after the incident and confessed to his crime, Mahatha said, adding he was arrested thereafter.

A long standing land dispute is stated to be the cause behind the attack, he said.
Police said an FIR has been registered in this regard and investigation is underway.
