A married couple were today admitted to a hospital here in a critical condition, after the husband allegedly set his wife on fire and then attempted suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
Hair saloon owner Adil and his wife Nazma stayed in Surajpur Kasba area, police said.
After a heated verbal over a family related issue, Adil pour kerosene on his wife and set her ablaze this morning, according to police.
Thereafter, he consumed some poisonous condition to end his life, they said.
Both were rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition was stated as critical.
Nazma has suffered 80 per cent burn injuries in the incident, police said.
