Man commits matricide in Jharkhand

A man has allegedly killed his 70-year-old mother by pushing her into a well in Korambe village in Ramgarh district, police today said.

The accused Ramanand Prasad (28) was today arrested and forwarded to jail, said Superintendent of Police, M Tamilvanan.

Referring to the incident, he said in a fit of rage, Ramanand had hit his mother Kunti Devi with a stone over a petty family issue and injured her yesterday.

Ramanand then pushed her into a nearby well, which caused the death of Kunti Devi, he said.
