Depressed over not finding a suitable life partner, a 36-year old man allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in his house in Thudiyalur on the outskirts of the city.
According to police, relatives of Somasundaram were searching for a match for him for the last five years but in vain.
Somasundaram himself was making efforts to look for a suitable girl for the last fortnight, which also turned out to be futile.
Dejected over this, Somasundaram consumed poison-mixed liquor last evening in his house, police said, adding he was rushed to a government hospital but declared brought dead.
