Man critically injured as cars collide near Rajpath

A man was critically injured when his car crashed into a Bentley car belonging to a senior lawyer near the Rajpath here this morning, police said.

Victim Joginder, who works for a prominent hotel in the city, is being treated at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, they said.

A PCR call was received about the incident around 7.45 AM. It was told that an accident had taken place at the crossing of Mansingh Road and Rajpath, police said.

"Victim's Maruti WagonR was coming from Mansingh Road while the Bentley, driven by the driver of the lawyer, was coming from the Rajpath side. The two cars crashed with a loud bang. The WagonR was severely damaged and its occupant Joginder was also critically injured. The driver of the other car also suffered injuries," said a police official.
 

According to the police, Joginder's condition is critical and he is being treated by a team of doctors.

A case of rash and negligent driving causing grave injuries under Sections 279/338 of the Indian Penal Code had been registered at Tilak Marg police station against the WaognR driver, police said.
