A 33-year-old man was today crushed to death by a speeding truck near Keshav Puram metro station in northwest Delhi in the wee hours.
The deceased, Manish Gupta, was on his motorbike when he was hit by the speeding truck from the rear side around 1 AM today. The errant driver fled the scene abandoning his truck, which has been impounded, a senior police official said.
The police ruled out reports claiming that Gupta was lying on the road for around three hours before he was spotted.

"Keshav Puram is a small area, thoroughly patrolled by police teams in the night hours. The spot where the accident took place is close to the metro station. There is no possibility of the matter going unnoticed for long," DCP (northwest) Vijay Singh said.
A passerby informed the police and Gupta was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
A case of rash driving and causing death by negligence has been registered in connection with the incident. The absconding driver has been identified and efforts are on to nab him, police said.
