Man crushed to death under train wheels near Vadodara

A 38-year-old man standing near the door of Swaraj Express was crushed to death at Varnama station near Vadodara after he lost balance when two thieves snatched cell phone from his hand, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Rana, who worked as a diamond cutter in Surat. He was travelling with his friends and was on his way to his home town in Khambhat.

He was standing near the door of the coach. When the train slowed down, two persons snatched his mobile as a result he lost balance, fell down and slipped under the wheels of the train, said police.
 

Other passengers pulled the chain and stopped the train. Railway police who rushed to the spot and are investigating the matter.
