A 22-year-old man was crushed under a speeding truck in Badalpur of Gautam Buddh Nagar today, leading to an agitation by locals who briefly disrupted traffic in the area, police said.
Yogesh of Pachera village was on his way to Dadri when the truck hit his motorcycle from behind, leaving him dead on the spot, they said.
Following the incident agitated locals disrupted traffic on the Dadri road, blocking vehicular movement for nearly half an hour, police said.
"We reached the spot on being alerted about the incidents. Police officials talked to the locals and pacified them after which vehicular movement was resumed," Circle Officer, Greater Noida third, Nishank Sharma said.
He said the truck has been impounded while its driver managed to escape and police were trying to track him.
The body has been sent for post mortem and a FIR registered at the Badalpur police station, Sharma said, adding further probe was underway.
