A 33-year-old man died after his motorbike hit a wall and caught fire in southwest Delhi's Shankar Vihar area today.

The deceased has been identified as Manak, a resident of south Delhi's Vasant Vihar area, said a police official.

The incident took place around 1.20 PM when Manak allegedly lost control over his Bullet motorbike which hit a wall and then caught fire, said a police official.

Manak, who was injured by the impact of the crash, sustained severe burn injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, police said.

"Prima facie it is a case of accident. Investigation has been taken up," DCP (southwest) R A Sanjeev said.

The fire turned larger after it engulfed an auto-rickshaw parked close to the spot where the incident took place. Fire tenders were also rushed to the spot, said a fire official.
