A 20-year-old man, working on the ninth floor of an under-construction building at Aerocity in IGI Airport, died after falling from the building while he was on duty, police said today.

Imtiaz Ali did not fall all the way to the ground and his body was found lying in a pool of blood on an extended shaft in the sixth floor, a police official said.

A native of Bihar, Ali had been working at the construction site for the last four months.

He was last seen around 5 PM on Monday, when he reportedly told his colleagues that he was going to relieve himself and never returned.

Later, his colleagues left the site, assuming that he must have left without informing anyone, the official said.

When he did not return home the entire night, his brother Alam Ali, who also works at the same construction site, started looking for him and later Imtiaz's body was found on the sixth floor slab.

The police was informed and Imtiaz was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

A case of negligence has been registered against unknown persons and investigation is underway, the official added.
