A 31-year-old man was swept away while his father rescued after the duo fell into a canal near Sinta village under Keshoraipatan police station area here, police said today.
The victim Deepak Meena was driving back home on a motorcycle with father Deendayal Meena (45) last night when Deepak lost control of the vehicle on Sinta-Merarana route and fell into the Chambal river canal, Dhanphool Meena, CI, Keshoraipatan police station said.
The passerby managed to rescue the victim's father but Deepak was swept away by strong currents of the canal water, he said, adding that his body was traced this evening, six kilometres away from the canal behind Gudla railway junction.
Earlier today, enraged relatives and villagers blocked the Kota Lalsot Highway for about an hour, the CI said.
