A man who was crossing the road, died after allegedly being hit by a mini-bus in the Batote area of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday.
Mir Wali, an employee of Animal Husbandry Department at Batote, was crossing the road when he was hit by a speeding mini-bus near Batote bus stand, a police officer said today.
He said that the driver managed to escape from the spot.
Wali who was profusely bleeding was referred to Government Medical College (GMC) hospital here but succumbed to his injuries on the way, he said.
His body was handed over to family members for last rites after conducting all legal formalities, police said, adding, a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
