Man dies in wall collapse due to fire

A 24-year-old man was killed after a wall collapsed on him due to a fire at a local news channel's office in outer Delhi's Narela, the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said.

The services received a call around 2.05 am and four fire tenders were rushed to the spot, a DFS official said, adding that the fire was brought under control by 3.45 pm.

There was a blast due to the blaze and that caused the wall to collapse, he said.

The official said that after the fire was brought under control, firemen entered the building and found Manoj alias Monu Khatri under the collapsed wall.
 

He was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead, he said.

The body was handed over to family members after post- mortem and a case has been registered. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official said.
