A middle-aged person died of cardiac arrest after tremors were felt in Murshidabad district of West Bengal today.
A senior police officer said Naushad Ali (50) died of heart ailment, while villagers claimed that Ali collapsed on an open ground after rushing out of his Kapasdanga home as the tremors were felt at around 4:30 am.
Ali's family members confirmed that the doctors said he died of cardiac arrest.
The quake, with Manipur as its epicentre, triggered panic across West Bengal including Kolkata as people rushed out of home braving early morning chill.
