Man dies of swine flu, death toll rises to 6 in Indore

With the death of a 48-year-old man due to swine flu here, death toll due H1N1 virus reached to six in the city this year.

Integrated Disease Surveillance Project District Unit in-charge, Dr G L Sodhi said here today that a 48-year-old man from neighbouring Dewas district's Bank Note Press (BNP) Colony died of swine flu yesterday at a private hospital here.

He said the victim was admitted to the hospital two days ago and his swab samples were sent to a lab for testing and tested positive to H1N1 virus.

Sodhi said that condition of another patient, a 25-year-old woman, who was suffering from swine flu, is also serious.
 

Besides the woman patient, a 62-year-old man of Harda district of Madhya Pradesh is also undergoing treatment at a private hospital here, he said.

Sodhi said that so far a total of nine patients have tested positive for swine flu in Indore this year, of which six have died, including three women.
