Ramashankar Singh suffered a fatal heart attack after informed about the murder of his son Govind Kumar (14) by the kidnappers last night, Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said.
The police had earlier recovered the dismembered parts of the body of Kumar from Shivpur village and adjoining areas under Tarari police station area in Bhojpur district on the disclosure by a kidnapper Sanjay Sharma, he said.
Sharma, a native of Sheikhpura district, had kidnapped Kumar and demanded a ransom of Rs two lakh for his release after asking the latter on phone to meet him for getting him a job, the SP said.
The police had arrested the abductor who confessed to the crime and told the cops that he had killed Kumar last night and severed the body in pieces and thrown them at different places to hide evidence.
The police also recovered a hammer, a sharp object sued for chopping fodder, a gunny bag, blood-stained cloths and mobile phone of Kumar from the possession of the abductor, he said adding that the accused has been arrested and slapped murder charge. PTI CORR KDK
