Apparently harassed by a builder, a middle aged man allegedly committed suicide while his wife was battling for life after they consumed poison at their residence here, police said today.
Sanjay Agrawal (53) and his wife Sandhya Agrawal (50) took poison last evening for alleged delay in getting possession of a flat which they had booked with a builder five years ago, police officials said.
The couple was rushed to a private hospital where Sanjay died while his wife was battling for life.
An FIR was lodged by the couple's son Vishal Agrawal against builder Prabhat Verma and another charging them with abetting their parents to take the extreme step by delaying handing over a flat that his parents had booked, they said.
