Man drowns in a pond during Ramdeora Mela

A 20-year-old man from Barmer, who had come for pilgrimage at the Baba Ramdeora Mela in the district, today drowned in a pond while taking a bath, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Banshilal and had arrived at Balinath Maharan Ashram in Ramdeora town in the district last night.

He had gone for a bath this morning where he slipped and felling into the pond and drowned, police said.

He was rushed to a government hospital here, where he was declared brought dead by the doctors, they said, adding the body has been sent for postmortem.
