A 30-year-old man drowned and another was feared dead while were bathing in a canal at Alapur village here, a government official said today.
The incident occurred last evening when the duo went to the canal, located under Joura police station limits. A while after venturing into the water, they were trapped inside the deep water, sub-divisional magistrate of Joura, R S Bakna said.
While the body of one of the victims was recovered, search was on to trace the another man, who is suspected to have died, the official said.

The deceased were identified as Naresh Bhadoria (30) and Bhola Sikarwar (32).
Meanwhile, enraged over the administration unable to trace Sikarwar, local residents staged protest at the narrow gauge railway line near Joura today and stopped the Gwalior-Sheopur passenger for nearly an hour.
A rescue team including divers were pressed into service to search the missing person.
