Man duped of Rs 5 lakh

A fake travel agent

allegedly duped a man of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of getting his son employed in a foreign country, police said today.

Sohan Lal of Ghugial village said in his complaint to police that he had paid Rs 5 lakh to Kamal Kant, who promised to get Lal's son Munish employed in Singapore, police said.

However, Munish did not get a job in Singapore, and Kant did not return the money, they said.

A case of cheating against has been registered against Kant, who is is absconding, they said.
