Man dupes six of Rs 10 lakh promising jobs in ITBP, booked

A man who allegedly duped six unemployed youths of Rs 10 lakh by promising them jobs in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has been booked by the police.

Sarabjeet Singh, a resident of Kotli Bhan Singh, has been accused of duping the youths of Rs 10 lakh after promising them jobs in the ITBP, SHO, Civil Lines police station, Gurpinder Singh told reporters here.

Sarabjeet had provided them fake appointment letters and when the youths reported to ITBP office to join, the fraud came to light, he said.

ITBP officials had then reported the matter to police and all the youths were put behind bar for producing fake appointment letters.
 

After getting bail, the youths lodged a complaint with the SSP, Batala, who marked the case to SHO, Civil Lines.

A case was registered against Sarabjeet and a hunt is on to nab him, he said.
